GP3 Set To Support All European GPs In 2011

1 Mins read

The GP3 Series calendar for 2011 has been announced. The junior series, which enters its second season this year, is set to support all nine of Formula 1's European races.

Last year the GP3 Series did not feature on the support bill for the Monaco Grand Prix, like it did for all of the other European races. The 2011 calendar revealed by series organisers does include the Monte Carlo round, though it is currently listed as 'to be confirmed'.

The season will begin for the teams and drivers with a series of three pre-season tests, covering eight days of track running.  These will be held during March and April at Le Castellet, Silverstone and Barcelona. The season will then kick-off for real at Istanbul at the beginning of May, and end at Monza in September.

2011 GP3 Series calendar:

  1. 7-8 May – Istanbul
  2. 21-22 May – Barcelona
  3. 27-28 May – Monte Carlo
  4. 25-26 June – Valencia
  5. 9-10 July – Silverstone
  6. 23-24 July – Nurburgring
  7. 30-31 July – Hungaroring
  8. 27-28 August – Spa
  9. 10-11 September – Monza
