Race Winner Bratt Secures Pole For Race 2 At Spa

1 Mins read

Will Bratt followed up his maiden F2 race win with his first pole position in the series, topping qualifying for the second race of the weekend at Spa-Francorchamps.

The Briton knocked Mirko Bortolotti off the top of the timesheets with five minutes remaining in the session.

Ramon Pineiro looked like he might be able to take pole, going quicker than Bratt in the first sector. However, he would have to settle for a place on the front row.

“That was a good session but I could have gone even faster,” said Bratt. “We didn’t learn a lot about the track from yesterday’s wet sessions so our set-up was based on Friday’s running. I hooked up a really good lap with my second set of tyres on but even then we still had more pace available.”

Tobias Hegewald was fourth, with Christopher Zanella in fifth. Jordan King continued his impressive debut weekend by qualifying in sixth place. Mikkel Mac was seventh, ahead of Miki Monras, Julian Theobald and Jack Clarke.
