20-year-old British racer Archie Hamilton will start his 2012 season at the Dubai 24 Hours (January 12-15).

Hamilton, who raced in the 24 Hours races at both Spa-Francorchamps and Silverstone in 2011 will driver the same Gulf Racing run Lamborghini Gallardo he shared with Stuart Hall – also at the Dubai Autodrome – in the NKG UAE GT Championship in November, when they took a podium finish.

Hall will also form part of the four driver line-up alongside team co-owner Raold Goethe and Mike Wainwright.

“!t’s a great start to the year,” said Hamilton. “I'm really looking forward to the drive next week. I loved being in the car last November and I've really enjoyed the Spa 24 Hours and Britcar races – so the Dubai race is a fantastic opportunity and I'm very grateful to my sponsor for making it happen. My goal is to show that I'm a valuable member of an endurance team. It makes me more determined than ever to get to Le Mans.”

Qualifying for the race is on Thurday January 12, the race starting at 2pm (local time) the following day. As much as 12 hours of the race is to be broadcast live on MotorsTV.
