George Gamble has signed with Hillspeed ahead of his second season of car racing in the 2012 Ginetta Junior Championship.

Gamble competed with TJ Motorsport in 2011 and enjoyed a strong rookie season, taking three wins on his way to third in the championship. Gamble followed this up by another win on his way to winning the Ginetta Junior Winter Series.

With Hillspeed chasing a third consecutive drivers title in 2012, 15 year old Gamble was the perfect choice for the Derbyshire -based team, teaming him up with karting graduate Nathan Harrison.

Team Principal Richard Ollerenshaw said: “We're absolutely delighted to have George onboard for the coming season, he's someone we kept an eye on from the outset of the 2011 season and the only driver that truly challenged Seb (Morris) throughout the year.

“George had an excellent result in claiming the Winter Series title with TJ, he performed very well indeed, so we're pleased to have confirmed a deal with him this early as we make every effort to secure a third straight title.”

Nottingham-based Gamble added: “I'm over the moon to be back in Ginetta Junior for a second season, especially off the back of winning the Winter Series. It's great to be joining Hillspeed, the team's record speaks for itself and we stand a really good chance of fighting for the championship.

“We didn't decide to do Ginetta Junior last year until a couple of weeks before the championship started, so we didn't have any real testing pre-season unlike the others. This year, we've got a deal done early so we'll be able to have much better preparation.”
