Jolyon Palmer begins his second season in the GP2 Series this weekend, and says his aim is to be in the fight for a podium finish at Sepang in Malaysia.

After enduring a points-less rookie season last year with Arden, the 21-year-old from Southwater in West Sussex has switched to the frontrunning iSport team for 2012.

After taking a podium finish in the non-championship round in Abu Dhabi at the end of last year, he has set his sights on gaining a similar result this weekend.

“Pre-season testing was very encouraging and we showed we have the pace to compete at the front this year,” he said.

“I'm aiming for a top three finish in the championship which is a tough challenge as there are always top quality drivers in GP2. However, with a year’s experience already under my belt and running with a top team like iSport I think it's achievable.

“I'm very excited to be travelling to Malaysia for the first time and I aim to be battling for podium finishes this weekend.”
