Alexander Rossi will step in as a late replacement at Greaves Motorsport for the 2013 24 Hours of Le Mans, following the announcement that Christian Zugel has been forced to withdraw from the event.

Zugel has been forced to withdraw from the event owing to family and business commitments but plans to rejoin the team later in the season.

Caterham F1 reserve driver Rossi will join Tom Kimber-Smith and Eric Lux in the LMP2 #41 Zytek Z11SN Nissan. Rossi has been a front runner in the 2013 GP2 series with Caterham Racing, and was the 2008 Formula BMW World Champion.

“We are sorry to lose Christian from our Le Mans lineup,” said Team Manager Jacob Greaves. “He has been an integral part of the team over the past two seasons and brings many elements from his business world that have helped us. We are fortunate to have signed a driver of Alexander’s caliber and we are confident that we can combine our strengths to challenge for the LM P2 class victory at 90th Anniversary Le Mans 24 Hours.”
