Former motorcycle racer Craig Milner will make his Renault UK Clio Cup debut this season after signing a deal with 20Ten Racing.
The 51 year old has been confirmed alongside series returnee Josh Cook in the first two seats of a planned three-car outfit for the Little Eaton-based squad.
Derbyshire-based businessman Milner raced motorcycles for a decade before switching to car-racing in 2009. After competing in the Ferrari Open, Milner switched to the Volkswagen Racing Cup at the end of 2011, finishing twelfth overall in the series in 2012 before contesting a part-campaign last season.
Milner hopes to become a consistent challenger in the ‘Masters Cup’ class this year.
“It’s going to be a tough year for Craig, he’s never done anything at this level but we’ll get some good testing in and see how he goes,” said 20Ten Racing team principal Simon Hunt.
“He raced bikes for the best part of 10 years and for the last couple of seasons he’s been in the VW championship. We convinced him Clios are the way to go, so we’re hoping he can make good progress and probably challenge for the Masters class.”
