Three Supercup Newcomers For Rockingham

1 Mins read

The Michelin Ginetta GT4 Supercup grid will be boosted by three new additions for the latest two rounds of the 2014 season at Rockingham this weekend (30/31 August).

The headline entry comes from Ginetta GT5 Challenge front-runner Dennis Strandberg (pictured), who will join the series for the first time with regular outfit Academy Motorsport, filling their second G55 GT4 alongside category podium finisher Will Burns.

The Swedish racer has taken five wins in the Challenge so far this season, including a sensational victory hat-trick at Spa-Francorchamps in July, and may well spring a surprise to the established front-runners this weekend in the seat previously filled by reigning G50 champion Sean Huyton.

Returning to the one-make Ginetta fold after nearly three years away meanwhile is Tom Howard. The 20 year old competed in Ginetta Juniors for three and a half years, taking twelve podium finishes, and has since gained GT experience in the Britcar series.

The final entrant is experienced motorsport commentator, ‘the voice of endurance racing’ John Hindhaugh, the Radio Le Mans veteran to be run by Ginetta themselves.
