Double R Racing confirm Pohler for Euro F3 campaign

1 Mins read

German Nicolas Pohler has moved from the EuroFormula Open championship to race in the FIA European Formula 3 Championship in 2015, and will drive for Double R Racing.

The nineteen-year-old will contest the whole season with the British team, having finished twelfth in the EuroFormula Open standings in 2014, finishing a season’s best of sixth during race two at Jerez in June.

“I felt good with Double R right from my first test and I was impressed with the professionalism and dedication to provide me with the perfect car”, said Pohler on the announcement of the news. “Boyo [Team Principal Anthony Hieatt] and his team have high goals for 2015 in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship and so do I.

“We will be pushing hard to make an impact during the upcoming season.”

Hieatt was happy to announce the team’s first driver for the 2015 season and insists the team have unfinished business in the series this year after seing their 2014 campaign end early when Felipe Guimaraes quit the team after the races at the Norisring in June.

“It’s fantastic to be able to confirm Nicolas as our first driver for this year’s FIA F3 championship, there’s a lot of unfinished business there for Double R”, said Hieatt. “We’re determined to be closer to the sharp end this season and Nicolas certainly has some good experience from the EuroFormula Open.

“While the European championship is a much bigger challenge, Nicolas is hungry to succeed.”
