Mark Howard has set his sights on Masters Cup podiums in his second season in the Renault UK Clio Cup with 20Ten Racing.
The 50 year old returned to one-make Renault racing last season as a former champion, having picked up the Renault 5 Turbo title back in 1993.
Howard, who has raced in the VW Cup and Radical racing more recently, ran himself in the first four weekends before joining 20Ten.
Improving his pace throughout the year, Howard finished in the top ten on three occasions, with a best finish of ninth at Croft in June.
With that experience under his belt, Howard is now hoping to move up the grid in 2015.
“I have to say the professionalism of the young drivers now in Clios compared to how it was back when I won is much, much higher. They are so focused and in a different league,” said Howard.
“I’m not after anything too grand – at my age it’s more about having a good fun, family weekend – but I would hope to be on the Masters podium and get regular outright top ten finishes.”
Howard is one of two drivers confirmed to be returning at 20Ten, with Jordan Stilp the other, those two making it twelve confirmed entries for the 2015 Renault UK Clio Cup so far.
