Mexican racer Diego Menchada has become Campos Racing’s third announced driver for the 2015 EuroFormula Open Championship.
The twenty-year-old from Mexico City joins Brazilian Henrique Baptista and Russian Konstantin Tereschenko in the team. He previously raced in the Protyre Formula Renault BARC Series in 2012 before moving into the BRDC Formula 4 Championship for two seasons, finishing with a best of seventh in the standings in 2014, winning one race at Snetterton in October.
Team Principal Adrian Campos spoke about his new signing, and believes that between him, Baptista and Tereschenko, hopes for a strong season of the EuroFormula Open.
“It is such a great new to sign Diego for our team in EuroFormula Open,” insisted Campos. “He is a very young driver coming from a country playing even a more important role each year in motorsport. I think he is a driver being able to bring us brilliant results.
“Konstantin, Henrique and Diego are three excellent drivers to approach this season.”
Campos Racing ran three cars last year for Tereschenko, Spaniard Alex Palou and Briton Sean Walkinshaw, finishing second in the Teams’ championship. With three already announced, the team may have already firmed up their line-up for the 2015 season.
