Alessandro Latif will make his debut in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB in 2016, becoming the latest driver to confirm their plans to enter Britain’s most competitive one-make GT competition.

GT Marques will field the British ace who has already enjoyed a brief pair of tests at a soggy Snetterton and in slightly kinder conditions at Donington Park.

The move to the prestigious Carrera Cup GB comes off the back off success in the Bathurst 12 Hour, the Blancpain Sprint Series and the Gulf 12 Hours.

Describing his motivation to switch to a single-make category, Latif elaborates on his goals, saying “It is a phenomenally competitive series and drivers love racing in front of large crowds – it is really inspiring.”

The UK circuits will be new and challenging for a driver also learning the unique characteristics of the Type 991 Cup car, yet you sense a determination within Latif, that means he could be a star in this year’s Carrera Cup GB.

Stay tuned over the next few days as Autosport International is sure to throw up some more Porsche presents.
