Enzo Fittipaldi Enters 2016 Ginetta Junior Championship

1 Mins read

Enzo Fittipaldi, grandson of two-time F1 world champion Emerson, is entering the 2016 Ginetta Junior Championship with Douglas Motorsport.

The 14 year old makes his UK racing debut following a successful introduction to Ginetta’s during the annual Scholarship contest in October.

Impressing across the three-day event at the Bedford Autodrome, Fittipaldi was named one of the twelve finalists from a field of over sixty drivers.

Now the Brazilian will follow in the footsteps of his brother, 2014 Formula Renault BARC champion Pietro Fittipaldi, by starting his career in Britain.

“I’m really looking forward to this season. For sure switching from karts into sports cars will be a challenge, but I’m a fast and aggressive driver and I’ll be going for the win in every race!” said Fittipaldi.

“The Ginetta Junior Championship allows young drivers like myself to familiarise myself with all of the UK’s big race tracks, whilst also being a highly competitive and well-televised series; what’s not to love?!”

Fittipaldi will team up with reigning Winter Series champion Stuart Middleton in Douglas Motorsport’s Junior line-up.
