Ciceley Motorsport have signed a pair of MINI Challenge graduates for their 2017 Renault UK Clio Cup line-up, with Sam Osborne and Luke Reade joining the previously announced Max Coates.
Both drivers will be making their Clio Cup debuts and have already got a taste of fourth-generation Clio machinery after testing with Ciceley recently at Silverstone.
The duo competed in the headline JCW class of the MINI Challenge this year, with Osborne finishing eleventh overall in the standings, five places above Reade.
With Coates, Reade and Osborne signed, Ciceley have already equalled their three car line-up from this season, but could expand to run up to five cars next year.
“As soon as I tested the car at Silverstone and saw how Ciceley worked I knew it’s where I wanted to be in 2017,” said Reade.
“I think the UK Clio Cup car will suit my driving style more and I’m looking forward to getting some serious testing done in the New Year and working on the data side with Max.
There’s also the very high levels of exposure the UK Clio Cup receives because it races at the BTCC’s events and that’s something else I’m looking forward to.”
Osborne added: “It’s an honour to be joining a team like Ciceley in a championship like the UK Clio Cup. The exposure it receives alongside the BTCC is very exciting.
“The UK Clio Cup car is clearly extremely well put together and when I tested with Ciceley it felt amazing to drive. Like Luke I’m looking forward to getting stuck into a pre-season testing programme with the team and Max.”
