Daniel Rowbottom will mount a full season assault on the Renault UK Clio Cup this season with DRM following a partial debut campaign in 2016.
The 27 year old contested five of the nine race meetings across the year, a spell he started in stunning fashion with pole position at the season opener.
Seven top ten race results would follow, with a best finish of fifth coming at Croft – his final outing before his premature exit from the series.
Rowbottom returns with headline backing from Cataclean, a global name in automotive fuel systems cleaning, with the front of the grid in his sights.
“I’m not about making up the numbers – I’m there to go for the championship,” commented Rowbottom.
“I’m coming back to it a lot wiser and with a very committed and proactive sponsor in Cataclean who see the benefits of being part of the UK Clio Cup grid.
“The budgets involved in the UK Clio Cup mean it is still possible for a smaller team like ours to put together a really effective campaign – I’m a bit of a renegade and like the challenge of getting ourselves into a position to take on the big boys.”
