Channel 4 have confirmed a deal has been agreed with Sky Sports F1 to show highlights of the 2019 Formula 1 Season, including live coverage of the 2019 British Grand Prix.
Next year will mark the start of Sky’s exclusive deal to broadcast F1, as their shared deal agreed with BBC and Channel 4 will end this year.
But Channel 4 will continue to showcase F1 in 2019 with highlights as part of a new collaboration with Sky to continue showing F1 on free-to-air TV stations Channel 4 will also broadcast the British Grand Prix at Silverstone live as part of the deal.
“I’m delighted that we’ve been able to establish such an exciting and innovative partnership with Sky which will ensure that the British Grand Prix and highlights of the 2019 Formula 1 Championship remain available on free-to-air television for UK viewers.” said Alex Mahon, Chief Executive Officer of Channel 4.
The new deal between the two TV stations will also see Sky’s Original production Tin Star be shown on Channel 4 as part of the deal, as well as Channel 4 and Walter Presents drama series will be included on Sky and NOW TV platforms.

The 2019 British Grand Prix is set to be the last race to take place at Silverstone, as part of the circuit’s termination of its contract due to financial problems.
