Red Bull Toro Rosso Honda have unveiled their 2019 FIA Formula 1 World Championship challenger, the STR14 as they hope to push up the field in their second year with Honda.

Honda once again powers Toro Rosso as the Japanese manufacturer expand their partnership with Red Bull to their sister team Aston Martin Red Bull Racing.

Toro Rosso ended the year ninth overall in the constructors championship but saw impressive results from Pierre Gasly and Brendon Hartley, including a fourth place finish in Bahrain in only the team’s second race with their Japanese partners.

This season will see the team change their whole driver line-up for the 2019. Daniil Kvyat returns to Formula 1 after a year away from the sport, hoping to build a long-term future within the sport. This will be fourth season with the Italian team.

The Russian will be alongside rookie Alexander Albon, who was called on after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix last year. The Thai-Anglo driver finished a strong season in FIA Formula 2 third overall and was a title contender going into the final round. He will Thailand’s first F1 driver since Prince Birabongse Bhanudej Bhanubandh in the 1950’s.

The livery design for the STR14 is similar to the design that has been presented since 2017 with a dark blue, grey and red colour scheme on the car. The dark blue covers the most of the car, representing the Red Bull: Blue edition drink.

The noticeable feature of the STR14 is its aggressive sidepods that it presents on the car, similar to Ferrari’s design from previous interpretations. The front wing support holders showcase multiple holes leading towards underneath the car. The design was similar to McLaren F1 Team‘s MCL33 design they used at the beginning of the 2018 season.

Toro Rosso become the first time to showcase their car in a general launch, where as Rich Energy Haas F1 Team showcased their black and gold livery on a 2018 car, with renders of their 2019 challenger presented online. Williams Racing are set to unveil their new livery for 2019 later today.
