2020 Spanish Formula 4 champion Kas Haverkort will step up to Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine in 2021, after re-signing for MP Motorsport.
Haverkort raced for MP Motorsport last year and was the dominant driver across the season, taking thirteen victories on his way to the title, while he also competed in two events in Formula Renault Eurocup in preparation for this coming season.
The seventeen-year-old Dutchman says he was eager to remain with MP Motorsport after their impressive campaign of last year, and he cannot wait to get the new season underway.
“Staying with MP was the best possible decision,” said Haverkort. “Last year we won the Spanish F4 Championship together, and I was right up there when I joined the team for a few Formula Renault races late in the season.
“This team knows how to win and, for me as a Dutchman, it feels close to home too. Let’s get this season started!”
Sander Dorsman, the Team Manager of MP Motorsport, says he is ‘proud’ to sign Haverkort for the 2021 season, where he will join Argentine star Franco Colapinto and Danish racer Oliver Goethe.
“I’m proud to include Kas in a very strong line-up of drivers for our Formula Regional European assault,” said Dorsman. “It’s great that he has decided to stay with us for what I’m sure will be another highly successful season.
“The 2020 campaign was a blast with Kas, and we are all anxious to give that a repeat in 2021.”
