After ten successful years, Black Falcon have announced that they are to withdraw from professional GT3 Racing at the Nurburgring Nordschleife as well as the GT World Challenge.

Instead, the Black Falcon organisation will focus on customer support with activities in the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland, as well as the Nürburgring, being a focus with other international and national efforts.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic this year which has seen numerous events and championships cancelled or postponed as well as an increase in travel restrictions; This has left the team taking the decision to pull out of professional GT3 because of the economic consequences that this situation provides.

Black Falcon managing director Alexander Böhm said, “The last three months were by far the most difficult in the team’s 15 year history.

The ban on events affects almost all of our business areas and is currently causing sales losses of over 90%.

We have therefore decided to withdraw from professional GT3 sport until at least the end of 2021, i.e. to do without factory-supported assignments with professional drivers.

This was a purely mental decision and unfortunately unavoidable for the economic security of Black Falcon”.

Black Falcon are one of the most prolific and successful teams in GT3 racing mainly with the Mercedes-AMG brand running the SLS and AMG GT3 cars. Wins include two Nurburgring 24 hours events, victories in the 2018 Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup as well the title. The manufacture efforts will be missed from the grid.

The simracing activities of Black Falcon, which started during the Coronavirus crisis with the participation in the Digital Nürburgring Long Distance Series, will be further expanded and professionalised.
