After a successful 2010 event the Sevenoaks and District Motor Club have confirmed the dates for the 2011 Motorsport at the Palace event at Crystal Palace.
On the Bank Holiday weekend of May 29-30 over 200 historic and contemporary racing cars are expected at the unique Crystal Palace track. Electric powered and alternatively fuelled cars will bring the event in the present day, with their own classes on the weekend.
Several clubs and organisations will be displaying their cars over the weekend. These include the Colin Chapman Museum, the AA Heritage Collection and the Ferrari Owners' Club.
Last year more than 5,000 spectators attended the two-day event and the 2011 version will offer the same opportunity to get up close to the cars around the paddock, with drivers and mechanics on hand, and willing, to talk about their cars and the challenges of the parkland track. Roary the Racing Car, and the Roary Zone will return for a second year to entertain the younger visitors to the Palace.
Motorsport at the Palace will once more be raising money of St. Christopher's Hospice and the Royal London Society for the Blind, after collecting £3,000 for the local charities in 2010.
