2017 6 Hours of Bahrain
The Toyota Gazoo Racing #8 trio of Fernando Alonso, Sebastien Buemi and Kazuki Nakajima took their third victory in a row, whilst the #51 AF Corse found some surprising pace and luck to take the GTE Pro honours at the 6 Hours of Silverstone.
Toyota Gazoo Racing took two cars to the World Endurance Championship Prologue and are optimistic about the season after getting some track time with their fellow LMP1 competitors.
It took them four years, but in 2017 the Aston Martin Racing trio of Paul Dalla Lana, Pedro Lamy and Mathias Lauda claimed victory in the LM GTE Am class.
James Calado and Alessandro Pier Guidi led the GTE Pro class commendably in the second half of the season to secure the GT Drivers’ World Endurance Championship, but the beginning of the year told a very different story.
