Will Power has said that he could not believe that he had taken a podium finish in Sunday’s Detroit Grand Prix after multiple issues throughout the weekend beforehand. Power finished nineteenth in race one and also suffered mechanical woes earlier in the race on Sunday.

Marcus Ericsson secured his first podium finish in a race since 2013 in Sunday’s 2019 NTT IndyCar Series Detroit Grand Prix. The Swede finished two seconds off of race winner, Scott Dixon.
Scott Dixon has given thanks to his Chip Ganassi Racing team for the strategy they gave him in Sunday’s Detroit Grand Prix that allowed him to take victory. Dixon crashed in the first race of the weekend on Saturday.

The 2019 NTT IndyCar Series continues this weekend with the season’s only doubleheader race weekend. Two races will make up this weekend’s 2019 Grand Prix of Detroit at the Belle Isle Street Circuit.
Chris Minot, a tyre-changer for Jordan King during Sunday’s Indianapolis 500, is recovering after undergoing surgery following a pit-lane injury during the race. Minot was struck by a tyre during a pit-stop and suffered injuries to his left leg.
Josef Newgarden suffered opposing fortunes across the two races of the 2019 Detroit Grand Prix. Newgarden won the race on Saturday but was involved in an accident in Sunday’s race that pushed him to nineteenth place.
The two practice sessions for this weekend’s IndyCar Detroit Grand Prix have been completed, with Scott Dixon and Alexander Rossi finishing as the fastest drivers of each session. Dixon was fastest in practice one, with Rossi taking over in practice two.
Andretti Autosport’s Alexander Rossi has lamented a lack of horsepower, pit-problems and issues with lapped traffic that hindered him in his quest to take a second victory in the Indianapolis 500. Rossi ultimately finished second to Simon Pagenaud.
