Caterham had hoped for big gains in today’s race at Silverstone following a major upgrade package to the car. However, the team’s two drivers, Heikki Kovalainen and Vitaly Petrov endured very different afternoons.
Heikki Kovalainen said that he had high hopes before qualifying that he could get his Caterham into Q2 and, in the end, only missed out on seventeenth place by a few hundredths of a second.
