Toyota has moved their LMP1 powertrain chief to the new boss of racing operations in Germany.

The FIA are looking at bringing in some cost-cutting schemes to be enforced in the 2020 season so that it is easier and cheaper for new teams to join the LMP1 field. However, Toyota have stated that if there is a reduction in the hybrid energy systems after the LMP1 rule freeze they will most likey depart from WEC.
Toyota Motorsport GmbH have become the first manufacturer to be granted homologation for a rear wheel drive car in the 21st century with the GT86 CS-R3 now being eligible to under any competition run by the FIA.
