Rendez-Vous Racing Announce BARC Move

1 Mins read

Established single-seater team Rendez-Vous Racing have confirmed they will enter the 2012 Protyre Formula Renault BARC Winter Series ahead of a planned full campaign in the category in 2013.

The Bedfordshire squad are looking to run a single car in the winter series, before beginning the full championship with a  two-driver entry. The team’s driver for the winter series is yet to be confirmed, with team principal Philippe Layac, an active racer himself, hasn’t ruled out racing himself at some point.

“We’ve been looking at Formula Renault BARC for two years and now is the ideal opportunity for us to join”, explained the Frenchman, “We’re coming in to the Winter Series to start with one car, if all goes well then we’d like to run two cars next year. We have a really good car, we have our racing academy and we’re also working with Ross Curnow, which has really helped bring the team forward.

“It’s a brilliant championship with really strong grids, the cars are really good and it’s just a great package to sell to drivers. The budgets are realistic but there is also a TOCA event on the calendar as well which is great to offer – it’s a class to be in for sure.”
