The new Chevrolet Lumina CR8 has made it’s on-track 2010 debut at Vallelunga ahead of the upcoming Superstars series.
Developed by Motorzone Race Car the testing kicked off with Fabrizio Armetta taking to the wheel for 20 laps before handing over to the experienced Nico Caldarola, Stefano Livio and Vito Postiglione.
“Even though rain partly hit the program we scheduled for the day” told Armetta, “we’ve been able to put some valuable kilometers under our belt with great results, especially with the new tires we had the chance to bring on-track. We’ll be testing again at Vallelunga on February 10. We’re defining our 2010 lineup, and we have some advanced talks in progress. We’re looking forward to run a 3-car program, with at least one professional racer on-board”
Caldarola, Livio and Postiglione were all thrown in at the deep end with not only an unknown car but also new to the team while evaluating a possible 2010 entry.
Rain hampered the testing but lap times proved to be quick and also resulted in a successful tst of a new exhaust system and new suspension components.
In a day that was full of new experiences, the team had their first taste of the new Michelin tires which we being provided for 2010 as the series sponsor.
The 2010 championship kicks off on March 28 at Monza.
