Four-Way Showdown For Formula Renault UK Title

1 Mins read

The 2010 Formula Renault UK Championship concludes this weekend (9/10 October) at Brands Hatch in Kent, with four drivers fighting it out to be crowned champion.

Fortec Motorsport driver Tom Blomqvist, the 16-year-old son of Swedish rally legend Stig, enters the final rounds with a one point advantage after dropped scores at the top of the drivers' standings. If he is successful, Blomqvist will become the youngest ever champion. The man in second place is Manor Competition's Lewis Williamson, the Scot having taken a double victory last time out at Silverstone.

Hungarian Tamas Pal Kiss of Atech GP lies in third place, with Manor's Will Stevens still in with a mathematical chance of taking the crown from fourth in the current standings.

The Graduate Cup will also be decided at Brands Hatch, with Alex Lynn set to claim the title ahead of his only rival, Fabio Gamberini. In the entrants' championship, Manor will put themselves out of reach of Atech if their drivers score 23 points over the weekend.

Meanwhile, Argentinean driver Facundo Conta will make his series debut racing alongside Richard Singleton at Team Firstair.
