Family squad Ciceley Racing are one of the BTCC’s newest competitors to launch their attack on the UK’s leading tin-top series, the team having already tasted title success on the TOCA package with Ginetta GT Supercup success in 2011.
The team is led by Russell Morgan, who has a wealth of racing and motorsport management experience, managing racing car teams since the early 90’s and enjoying all manners of motorsport success in categories such as Renault Spiders and rallying – where he still competes – claiming a class win in the 2011 RAC rally.
Ciceley’s first TOCA package experience could not have gone much better in 2011, leading Adam Morgan to the Ginetta GT Supercup title, propelling the Lancashire-born driver into BTCC for 2012 as his prize for winning the title.
Ciceley Racing also received the Spirit of the Championship Team Award in 2011, but despite becoming largely stealth in 2012, reformed in November that year for their first official assault on BTCC in 2013 with Morgan spearheading the team in an ex-Dynojet Toyota Avensis NGTC machine, already claiming a podium at the fourth round of the season at Oulton Park.
