Team Pedercini are optimistic that gains made at Imola will move them closer to the front of the field this weekend. Leandro Mercado scored points on his debut two weeks ago with 14th in race one and after making a breakthrough in the post-weekend test, the Argentinian hopes to make it a regular occurrence.

“This is my second Superbike event and, after Imola's races and test, I know that my team can help me to improve and achieve my target. Of course racing in Assen is always interesting. It has a nice layout and although it’s not an easy track I feel more confident with the bike and that should allow me to enjoy myself. For sure we have to work very hard but we know the direction we need to take to be able to reach some good results in Assen.”

Teammate David Salom also enjoys racing around the Assen circuit and expects the Kawasaki ZX-10R to go well there.

“Over this weekend at Assen we want to use the good electronic setting we found during the Imola test as a base and hope to be able to make another step forward. Assen should go better than Imola, also because I like the Assen circuit so I hope it will be the turning point for us. I know how hard everyone is working to improve things and I would like to take some good results for my team and for my sponsors.”
