Cipriani, Ibiza Racing Team return for 2015 Auto GP season

1 Mins read

Gentleman racer Giuseppe Cipriani will return to the Auto GP circuit in 2015 with his Ibiza Racing Team, it has been confirmed.

The forty-nine-year-old Italian will be competing in his fifth season of the sseries this year, and the third with his own team. In 2014 he took a memorable podium finish in the season opener at Marrakech in Morocco, alongside fellow Gentleman racer Michele La Rosa and race winner Kimiya Sato.

“I’m happy to be once again part of the Auto GP family,” insisted Cipriani. “This series, featuring 550-horsepower single seaters, has had an irresistible appeal to me since the times I was only a racecar driver.

“In the last few years, also being a Team Principal, I learned that managing a team isn’t always easy. Nonetheless, I managed to put together an highly-qualified technical staff that always provided us with high-performance cars able to fight for victory.”

Talks are on going with drivers to fill the second seat alongside Cipriani, with the team having tested with former series champion Vittorio Ghirelli at the recent test at Vallelunga.
