Comtec join Zeta Corse on Aragon absentee list

1 Mins read

Comtec Racing will miss the season opening Formula Renault 3.5 Series round at Motorland Aragon this weekend despite signing Argentine Facu Regalia to drive.

The Norfolk-based team had looked set to race this weekend, and had sent its trucks to Spain for the race, but will now sit out the event. The Phil Blow-led team are now looking to return to the championship later in the season.

Comtec’s absence means only twenty cars are racing this weekend at Motorland Aragon. ISR Racing withdrew their entry at the beginning of the season to concentrate on Endurance Racing, while Zeta Corse also pulled out of the event after failing to find two drivers with enough backing to race.

Zeta had taken Roberto Merhi to three race wins in 2014, and initially had signed Regalia before he moved across to Comtec.

Carlin’s return to the series brings the entry list back up, and with both Comtec and Zeta Corse aiming to return later in the season, it could bring the entry list up to twenty-four.
