Double Olympic gold medallist Dame Kelly Holmes will make a guest appearance at the fifth event of the FIA Formula Two Championship season at her local circuit of Brands Hatch this weekend.
Kelly, who hails from Kent, will be the guest of honour at the event, where she will join other guests on the grid to meet the drivers including championship leader Mirko Bortolotti, as well as British young guns Jack Clarke and Alex Brundle. She will also make the podium presentations on Saturday.
“I'm delighted to be attending my first ever Formula Two event and at Brands Hatch which is my local circuit,” said Kelly. “I have a lot of respect for racing drivers as, like Olympic athletes, they have to be incredibly fit in order to cope with the G-forces developed by the cars.
“It will be great to see them in action around the Brands Hatch track as most people won’t know that I am hoping to get into racing myself. Maybe one of them can give me a few tips!”
