4. Jack Miller (Moto3)
This kind of result has been coming since the beginning of pre-season testing. Jack Miller has been among the fastest riders of all during the winter after joining Red Bull KTM Ajo and the Australian delivered fully on that promise at Losail.
Unusually for him, Jack kept a pretty low profile in free practice as Romano Fenati dominated the headlines while qualifying was a Honda show, the Estrella Galicia duo Alex Rins and Alex Marquez securing a 1-2 but Miller put himself firmly in contention by claiming the other pace on the front row. The race quickly became a straight fight as Miller joined Marquez in a two-man breakaway and although the chasing pack reeled them in late on, the winner was still likely to come from those two.
Miller was regularly a threat on the brakes but Marquez had more grunt down the long pit straight, suggesting he had matters under control but the pressure from Miller finally told on the last lap, Alex running wide at turn six and handing a first GP win to the Aussie. You would be forgiven for saying this win had a little luck attached to it but when you consider Jack has been punching above his weight against more powerful motorcycles for years, I think we can forgive him a bit of good fortune too.
