Easton Fired Up Ahead Of North West 200

1 Mins read

Stuart Easton will lead the challenge from MSS Colchester Kawasaki at this week's North West 200 event in Coleraine.

The Hawick rider re-emphasised his road-racing credentials by winning the Macau GP for a third time during the winter and is firmly in contention for this year's British Superbike crown.

Easton will be competing in the Superstock class as well as the Superbike races which he performed strongly in last year, and is eager to get down to business this week.

“This is one of my favourite events in the World. I enjoy the whole week, away from the riding it's real relaxed and you get a chance to really bond with the team. It's obviously far less intense than BSB but then race day goes crazy! This new Kawasaki ZX-10R is all changed for this year so we're not too sure how it will go at this particular place, it's been incredible in BSB and only practice will show its capabilities here.”

Easton's British Superbike teammate Gary Mason will also join him at Coleraine for his second crack at the prestigious event. The 32 year old is arriving in Northern Ireland brimming with confidence after claiming his maiden BSB podium at Croft last weekend and is hoping to continue that form here.

“It was my first time last year and I couldn't believe the event! What an atmosphere and the fans were brilliant. I only did Superbike last year so I'll get a lot more track time doing Superstock also, plus Stuart is going to help me in practice, which is mega. I'm aiming for top six if I can get away with the group then it's all down to slipstreaming. Bring it on!”

Team Owner Nick Morgan is also in high spirits as the team enjoys a successful year in BSB, and is hoping to add to their road racing successes in the coming days.

As a team we love this event and although we've had success here, we're desperate for that first full Superbike win! With our all new ZX-10R and the form of both Stuart and Gary, this is a great time to be coming here and we have a good chance to make it happen.”
