Ingram Over The Moon With “Best Weekend Ever”

1 Mins read

Tom Ingram described the latest meeting of the Michelin Ginetta GT Supercup at Croft as a “dream weekend”, after the championship leader stormed to a stunning triple victory.

In his newly-liveried JHR Developments-prepared Ginetta G55, Ingram was a class apart from his rivals in North Yorkshire, a flawless trio of victories more than doubling his advantage at the top of the points standings.

Ingram fired a blow to his rivals in qualifying, taking his second straight pole position by a commanding 0.664 seconds, and that proved to be the precursor to two comprehensive lights-to-flag victories in the weekend’s opening two races.

The MSA Academy member won them by ten and eighteen seconds respectively, setting not just the fastest lap on both occasions, but all four fastest laps in race one and the top ten fastest laps in race two.

Despite starting sixth on the reverse grid, the 19 year old only had victory on his mind for the third race. Scything his way through the field superbly, the KX Akademy protégé took the lead on lap two and didn’t look back, coping well with a late rain shower to bring the car home for his fifth win of the season.

With the triple win making it twelve podium finish in fourteen starts this season, the BRDC Rising Star has extended his lead in the championship to 102 points heading into the summer break.

“It was a dream weekend,” Ingram enthused. “We didn’t leave a single point on the table, and you can’t ask for any more than that. To win all three races in such a dominant manner was pretty cool, I must admit, and it’s the perfect way to head into the long summer break. We’re really in a sweet spot with the set-up of the car right now and the JHR boys are all doing a fantastic job. It was my best weekend in racing so far. In fact, it was just the best weekend ever – period.”
