17-year-old Josh Rattican is set to move up to the Ginetta GT4 SuperCup following an impressive 2020 season that saw him claim the runner-up spot in Ginetta Juniors.
After six years of karting, Rattican made the move in to Ginetta Juniors in 2019, finishing the year as the third best rookie with ten class podium finishes. Having claimed four race wins and a further eleven podium position finishes, 2020 marked a fantastic year for the Sheffield racer.
“I’m delighted to confirm my entry for the 2021 Ginetta GT4 SuperCup. Whilst SuperCup may be seen as a big step from Ginetta Juniors, I see it as a natural progression in my journey to reach international GT racing,” said Rattican.
“I’m absolutely ready for it and having served my apprenticeship in Juniors (and karting before that), I’m confident I have what it takes to win races in a senior class. The championship prize is without doubt the best on offer in British motorsport today and I have my eyes firmly set on it.”
Rattican has already had a taste of the Ginetta G55 machinery after a testing the car last week. There are plans for a comprehensive testing programme before the season begins later this year.
