1 Mins read

Reigning Ginetta Junior Scholarship winner Daniel Harper will team up with his predecessor to the crown Stuart Middleton in the Douglas Motorsport squad this season.

Harper beat over sixty other drivers during the Scholarship contest in October to earn a fully-funded season in the 2016 Simpson Race Products Ginetta Junior Championship.

The Northern Irishman makes his circuit racing debut this season after competing in the Junior 1000 Rally Challenge Ireland in 2015, winning three of the six rounds he contested.

I feel my versatility and ability to adapt to different conditions and driving techniques will put me in a great position going into this year’s championship,” said Harper.

“The Ginetta Junior Championship is a superb platform for me as a young driver to improve and showcase my ability in a fantastically exciting formula, against top competitors in proper cars at proper tracks in front of thousands of knowledgeable race fans.

Douglas Motorsport owner Wayne Douglas added: “I’m really pleased to have Daniel joining the team. I watched his performance at the Ginetta Junior Scholarship and there’s no denying that he has some raw talent. He will also benefit from have Stuart [Middleton] as his teammate so he has someone to work with both on and off track.”
