Ford, Cuttwood to Back Herta in 2016

1 Mins read

Bryan Herta Rallysport has named Ford Performance as an official partner for the 2016 season with sponsor Cuttwood also returning to the fold.

The Indianapolis-based team, which ran a pair of M-Sport built Ford Fiesta STs last season, will field a car single entry from The Blue Oval in 2016 driven by race winner Patrik Sandell behind the wheel.

“Bryan has quickly built a proven program, with Patrik Sandell, capable of winning any event,” Said Henry Ford III, Marketing Manager at Ford Performance. “The team has been working hard to further develop their Fiesta STs and we expect them to be a serious championship contender again this year.”

E-liquid manufacturer Cuttwood will be primary sponsor of the team’s entry for the final five races of the season, joining Lowes as an associate sponsor for the first seven events of the season.

“We are proud and excited to be a sponsor of the No. 18 Cuttwood Ford for the upcoming series,” said Jared Unger, founder of Cuttwood.  “The Red Bull Global Rallycross Championship combines the best attributes of many different forms of racing and, as a result, delivers the “wow-factor” that is consistent with the Cuttwood  culture.  We view our participation in the Red Bull Global Rallycross Championship as another way to say ‘thank you’ to our many loyal customers who enjoy an active lifestyle.”

“This year there is a lot to look forward to,” said Herta. “We are more than thrilled to have Cuttwood back again and to have Ford on board shows how much our relationships have grown with our partners. Cuttwood is a huge supporter of the team both on and off the track – there is definitely good chemistry within our partnership. Ford offers a great product. There is no denying we were fast last year and with increased support from Ford, I have no doubt we will be championship contenders.”
