Toseland set for early WSB test

1 Mins read

James Toseland is set to have an early test of the Yamaha R1 that he will be riding next year.

The Monster Yamaha Tech 3 team confirmed to Crash.net that it will allow the british rider to take part in the Portimao World Superbike test taking place next weekend.

With the test on the same weekend as the Malaysian MotoGP race, it is expected that Toseland will dash back from Sepang to take part.

Following two years in MotoGP, Toseland will swap places with Ben Spies for 2010.

The early test will give Toseland the chance to familiarise himself with the Yamaha R1 and learn the spectacular Portimao circuit.

Suzuki recently turned down a request from Kawasaki’s World Superbike Squad for Chris Vermeulen to take part in the Portimao test as he also heads to WSB for 2010.
