Preparations for the forthcoming 2010 WTCC Campaign have been stepped up by BMW and Chevrolet, who have been testing in Portugal at the new Portimao track in the Algarve.
BMW recently announced a downscaled team to be run by RBM, were present with Augusto Farfus heading into his fourth season alongside triple World Champion Andy Priaulx.
Chevrolet took along two Cruze’s for seasoned Chevrolet driver Rob Huff and new signing 2008 Champion Yvan Muller. Alain Menu the third Chevrolet driver also attended the test and the briefing sessions, but didn't head out on track.
For Farfus it was his first test with the RBM Team run by Bart Mampaey having moved over from the BMW Germany team.
Huff and Muller had previously tested two weeks before at Valencia, and will again test at Valencia, before heading to Curitiba, Brazil, for the season opener.
The two day test at the track saw both teams test their 2010 cars, gaining valuable track knowledge ahead of the 11th and 12th rounds of the season, on July 4th
Wednesday saw the teams have to deal with rain during the day, however, Thursday saw the track dry out and the teams able to get some decent dry running.
