Moore’s sign for Eurotech

2 Mins read

Current Ginetta Junior Champion Sarah Moore and younger brother David have both signed with established team Eurotech Racing, who will be making their debut in the G40 Championship this season.

Eurotech Racing, who are based in Tamworth, will also be running under the banner of Pirtek Racing in the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship, with a single car for Andrew Jordan, son of team Principle Mike Jordan. Mike is the oldest winner of a BTCC race, when he took the Chequered flag first in the third race at Mondello Park in 2006, while Andrew has the record as the youngest BTCC pole position starter, after taking pole at Donington Park last year.

Eurotech Racing has over 30 years worth of racing experience, and both 16 year old Sarah and 15 year old David will be looking to use that experience in the 2010 season. Both Mike and Andrew, the youngest pole position starter in BTCC will be on hand to help, guide and assist the Moore's during the season.

Once the deal was confirmed, Sarah commented, saying: “I'm so excited to be joining such a high profile team as Eurotech. Mike and Andrew are amongst the best in the business so it's a real honour to know they are going to run me in the new Ginetta G40. 2009 was a dream year for me but now I have to get out there and defend my title as Champion. There are a lot of new big name additions to the grid that I've got to watch out for – including my own brother!”

David, who is heading into his second season if Ginetta Juniors also commented on the deal, saying: “It's a dream come true for me to be joining such a big name team and having the Jordan's on hand to advise me and mentor my performance is going to make a huge difference. The Ginetta Junior Winter Series has hopefully showed people what I am capable of and with a brand new G40 to take to the track; I hope that 2010 is going to be a big year in my racing career.”

Team Principle Mike Jordan had this to say about Sarah and David joining the team for 2010: “It's great for us to be working with Sarah and David this season, they are both very promising young talents and the Ginetta Junior Series is a great platform for them to showcase and develop their skills. Eurotech have run Ginetta's in various series before, so we have strong ties with the company and look forward to running two of the new G40's this season.”

As well as running Sarah and David in the G40's, the overall G40 Champion will be rewarded with a test in the Pirtek Racing Vauxhall Vectra.

The teams Ginetta G40 debut will be at Thruxton, Hampshire on the 3rd and 4th April.
