Honda Teams Join Forces for WTCC and ETCC

1 Mins read

Leading Scandinavian Honda teams Hartmann Honda (Denmark) and Engstrom Motorsport from Sweden have announced that they are joining forces for this year's FIA European Touring Car Cup and selected FIA World Touring Car Championship events.

Tomas Engstrom will be racing a Honda Accord alongside the current FIA ETCC Champion James Thompson, who claimed the crown for Hartmann Honda at Braga last year. The two of them will challenge for the ETCC honours in the 3 race series and at Brands Hatch and Monza in the WTCC.

“We know each other very well from the last three years, as both teams have taken part in the European Touring Car Cup, which we won last year. We have been discussing ways of co-operating and now it is a reality,” commented Hans Hartmann, Team Owner of Hartmann Honda.

“I am looking forward to working with Hans and the guys from his team, as they have given a good impression of themselves, when we have been fighting in the European finals over the last three seasons,” said Tomas Engstrom.

The opening round of the 2010 FIA European Touring car Cup occurs at Braga, Portugal on the 27th and 28th March, while the next round of the WTCC occurs at Marrakesh on the 1st and 2nd May.
