Ginetta Junior star confirms Formula Renault BARC Graduation

16 year old Jake Rattenbury has today confirmed that he is to become a single seater racer after confirming his plans to race for M-Tech Lite in the Protyres Formula Renault BARC Championship.

The Midlands based outfit, which run the Ferrari F430 in the British GT Championship made an instant impression on Welshman Rattenbury, “I tested with a few other teams but straight away M-Tech lite was above the rest.” he said.

The Ginetta Junior graduate, who raced with Cardiff based Muzz Racing in 2009, taking a best result of fourth place has set his aims high for his maiden season in the BARC Formula Renault: “This is my first year in single seaters. I'm aiming for podiums and finishes.”

Rattenbury has impressed during the pre season testing programme and is delighted at how it has gone: “The little testing I have done has gone brilliant,” said Rattenbury. “Better than anyone expected. I have had some bad luck but it's a learning curve” he added.

The opening rounds of the Protyres Formula Renault BARC Championship takes place at Brands Hatch on the 17th-18th April, and Rattenbury can't wait for the season to start: “I'm looking forward to the season ahead.”
