No Change for WTCC Compensation Weights

1 Mins read

Organisers for the FIA World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) have announced there will be no change to the handicap weights for the upcoming races in Portugal.

With the weight determined by the lap times set in Morocco, Italy and Belgium the car that carries the heaviest compensation weight is once again the SEAT León’s and Chevrolet Cruze LT’s that both carry 40kg of ballast.

After the calculations of the lap times it was revealed that the León TDI was the fastest car, just two tenths faster than the Cruze and half-a-second faster than the BMW 320si.

The rear wheel drive BMW 320si’s carry an extra 20kg and the Chevrolet Lacetti’s along with the old model of the BMW 320si able to run 20kg lighter.
