Andre Couto To Drive Diesel SEAT At Macau

1 Mins read

Andre Couto will once again take part in the World Touring Car Championship season finale around his home city of Macau. He will race a SEAT Leon TDI for SUNRED Engineering at this year's running of the event on 21 November.

Couto, who won the 2000 Macau Grand Prix Formula Three, has competed at the round every year since its inclusion in the WTCC in 2005. That year he raced for Alfa Romeo, and then raced for SEAT Sport in 2006, finishing seventh in Race Two. In 2007 he returned to the N.technology Alfa Romeo team, but didn't race after crashing in qualifying. He raced with the team again in 2008, this time at the wheel of a Honda Accord. Last year he raced a petrol-engined SEAT for SUNRED.

Couto will be one of three drivers from Macau to take on their home race. Henry Ho and Jo Merszei will both be at the wheel of BMW 320sis, both having had their first taste of the race last year.
