Nottinghamshire outfit Manor Competition has confirmed its line-up for the 2010 Formula Renault UK Winter Series. Ollie Millroy, Alice Powell, Josh Hill and Jordan King will race for the team when the series begins at Snetterton in Norfolk in just under two weeks' time.
Millroy stays with the team after a successful season in the main series. The 20 year old joined the team four rounds into the year and went on to take four podiums, including one win, on his way to sixth in the final standings. The Claygate driver heads into the Winter Series as one of the favourites to take the championship.
Another favourite for the crown will be 2010 Formula Renault BARC Champion Powell. Returning the team for whom she made her Formula Renault debut with in 2009, she heads into the Winter Series on the back of a superb season in the BARC series, which saw her pick up seven podiums, including two wins, on her way to the title.
Joining them will be Dunlop MSA Formula Ford Championship of Great Britain frontrunner Hill. In his second year of single seater action, the youngster picked up five race wins, as well as seven other podium finishes on his way to third in the championship. He will be hoping to replicate that pace as he steps up to the Formula Renault series.
Completing the squad will be karting superstar King, who this year finished second in the hotly contested WSK Master Series. He also stepped up to make his car racing debut in the final meeting of the 2010 Formula Palmer Audi Championship and stunned series regulars with a pole position and a podium in his third race.
Commenting on his line-up, team boss Tony Shaw said: “We're absolutely delighted to have secured such a strong line-up. All four drivers tested together for the first time at Pembrey last week and it went well. Ollie was very quick, as we'd expect, Alice was straight on it and Josh and Jordan both did an excellent job. It looks set to be a good championship; we'd love to be able to carry this line-up through into next year too.”
The Winter Series kicks off with two rounds at Snetterton on Saturday 6th November, before four races at Pembrey in South Wales the following week.
