American racer Alexander Rossi was quickest on the second day of the Formula Renault 3.5 Series test at Motorland Aragon on Tuesday. Rossi was testing with the ISR Racing team for which he drove in International Formula Master in 2009 and at the Monaco round of FR3.5 this year.
ISR boss Igor Salaquarda said: “We had two very successful tests with Alexander, in Barcelona and now here at Aragon, placing either first or second at both. Alexander is a highly skilled driver and delivers precise feedback. We would be delighted if we could arrange for him to race for us in 2011.”
Rossi, who finished fourth in the inaugural season of GP3 this year, is yet to finalise his plans for 2011. However, he is keen on renewing his relationship with the Czech squad, who finished third in the FR3.5 drivers' standings in 2010 with driver Esteban Guerrieri.
He said: “Both tests went fantastic with ISR in Spain. I'm very comfortable at ISR, the moral and work ethic of the team is excellent. The communication with my engineer Peter Barry is seamless. ISR have a great base line to work with, each time I run out we are improving the car and my own performance. The Spain tests were really a great experience and we were always out front. I look forward to the next couple of weeks as we sort out 2011.”
