Monster Yamaha Tech3 rider Cal Crutchlow has signed on to appear at this years Isle Of Man TT on the 8th of June. The Brit will be taking part in the Arai Parade lap, along with fellow MotoGP rider, Ducati’s Nicky Hayden and motorcycle legend Mick Doohan and TT rider Ian Hutchinson.
After making a rapid rise through the motorcycle racing ranks, with the 2006 British Supersport Championship and the 2009 World Supersport Championship under his belt and a 5th place finish in the 2010 World Superbike championship, he currently stands 11th in the MotoGP championship, and the Isle Of Man resident is looking forward to experience, on the week of the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
“As a resident of the Isle of Man I'm obviously aware of the importance of the TT Races.” said Cal. “I've been round the course many times but I've never had the chance to lap on a closed road. I'm really looking forward to experiencing the mountain course close up.”
Paul Phillips, the TT and Motorsport Manager for the Isle of Man Government added, “Cal approached us when he heard that we were scheduling a parade lap for Mick Doohan and asked if we could accommodate him at the same time. We were delighted to help as he is one of the world's leading racers and his endorsement will boost the profile of the event in the Mountain Course's centenary year.”
