Hawksworth Switches To Atech Reid GP

1 Mins read

Jack Hawksworth has switched teams for the remainder of the 2011 Michelin Formula Renault 2.0 UK Championship, moving from Mark Burdett Motorsport to Atech Reid GP. Hawksworth becomes the fourth driver in Atech's line up and will make his debut for them this weekend at Croft.

20 year old Hawksworth will join Tio Ellinas, Dan Wells and Oscar King in team, after visiting their Cardiff base this week. The Yorkshireman has enjoyed a strong start to the season with his previous team, currently lying fifth in the points with two podium finishes to his name.

Jack said: “I'm very much looking forward to contesting the remaining rounds of the 2011 Formula Renault 2.0 UK Championship with Atech Reid GP, who have proved to be a very professional team so far so this season. I was very impressed with my visit to the team yesterday when I got to meet all the key team members, who are all very motivated for success.

“Although I have yet to test with the team, I think we all gelled very well and I'm hoping they will help me to up my game and help me to improve. Although it's unrealistic to talk about my chances of winning first time out, I will still go into the Croft races this weekend the way I always do, determined for victory and with the confidence to do so. I am very much up for the challenge.”

Team Principal David Hayle added: “We at Atech Reid GP are delighted to welcome Jack as the latest addition to our team. Along with Tio, Oscar and Dan we have another fast driver in the team which will help us keep pushing forward. His performance in last year's Winter Cup showed he has the pace to be a front-runner and we look forward to a successful remainder of the 2011 series.”
