The regular Formula Renault Winter Series has been renamed this year, with Renault Sport UK and SRO announcing the 2011 Protyre Formula Renault UK Finals Series. The six-round series will take place at Snetterton on November 5/6 and Rockingham on November 12.
Snetterton and Rockingham are making welcome returns to the end-of-season series, with the 300 layout being used as Snetterton, as the CERTINA Formula Renault 2.0 UK Championship will use in 2012 and 2013.Bumper grids of over twenty cars are expected for the event, with entries from Formula Renault UK, Formula Renault BARC and Formula Renault Eurocup teams.
SRO UK General Manager, Lisa Crampton said: “We've had high interest from European teams and we are expecting over 20 cars to be confirmed by the entry closing date of October 25. The Finals' format offers a tremendously cost-effective package with exceptional track time available. It is a great means for drivers to receive signatures to upgrade their race licenses to a National A as the series gives the necessary six signatures.
“It is also invaluable training ahead of any test programme for the following season of the CERTINA Formula Renault 2.0 UK Championship and we thank Protyre, Michelin, MMC Insurance and Freem Racewear for their generous support. We are using two fantastic circuits which are relevant to the 2012 championships. We also have a series partner in Freem who are lending their support and providing a number of amazing prizes.”

Champion – 4 sets of tyres (16 tyres)
Points leader of each day – 6 tyres
Second place in points each day – 4 tyres
Third place in points each day – 2 tyres
Pole position – 2 tyres
Prizes for BARC class:
Champion – one Freem race suit value GBP 1,000 and one set of BARC spec tyres from Protyre.
Points leader of each day – one full set of Freem fireproof underwear (balaclava, tshirt, socks, pants) and Freem racing gloves.
